REIMAGINING HOW WE EXPERIENCE ART

Contemporary Expression of Feminity

On November 1, 2024, MAM-Y presented a landmark exhibition in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire drawn from its private collection, devoted to contemporary expressions of femininity. The show brought together striking photographs by Aïda Muluneh and Angèle Etoundi Essamba, evocative paintings by Kristine Tsala, Obou Gbais, Souleymane Konaté and Simone Ojeaga, alongside innovative design pieces by Jean Servais Somian and Karin An Rijlaarsdam. Through diverse mediums and perspectives, the exhibition illuminated the richness, strength, and complexity of the feminine experience in contemporary African and diasporic art.

Resilience

The show highlighted works by Hervé Youmbi, Jean-Michel Dissake, Alioum Moussa, Sadikou Oukpedjo, and Alain Ngann, each exploring resilience as both a personal and collective force in the African and global condition.
